A breathtakingly beautiful collection of contemporary poetry and prose, offering powerful insights into love, heartbreak, relationships, and self-empowerment.

Filled with wisdom and encouragement, every single page is a testament to the power of words, and the impact they can have on the relationships you build with others. And most importantly, the one you have with yourself.

Love Looks Pretty on You was written by Lang Leav and is published on the 29th of January. It has around 224 pages and is a collection of Poetry + Prose, advertised as “truly the must-have book for poetry lovers all over the world”.

Love Looks Pretty on You is the first of Lang Leav’s creations that I’ve read. In exchange for an honest review I received this eARC from Andrews McMeel Publishing on NetGalley. Thank you very much!

In 2018, I enjoyed more contemporary poetry than in any year before. With the focus on so many admirable poetry collections, I just couldn’t resist Love Looks Pretty on You, especially not with its fine cover.

Lang Leav’s writing style was somewhat different to what I had imagined it to be, with the poems being much more raw than I had anticipated. Most of the poems I loved, only very few didn’t quite touch me.

With me being such a hopeless romantic, excessively appreciating love, over-the-top annoyingly sentimental at times, I felt so understood in some poems, and one or two even made me shed a tear. Overall my adoration was clearly to be expected, as this collection also presented itself with subtle, yet unapologetically feminist themes. I felt inspired, a little broken and yet full of love. ★★★★☆
